City Oilers one win away from 5th National Basketball League title

City Oilers could be crowned National Basketball League champions for the fifth time on Friday night.
The four-time league winners scrapped through to a 52-46 win over KIU Titans on Wednesday night to improve to 3-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Oilers who are desperate to get done with the series started strong with James Okello tormenting KIU’s interior with two quick baskets and the champions went on to win the opening quarter 16-9 as Titans’ offense was at premium.
While Titans played better defensively in the second quarter, offense remained stagnated and bettered the first quarter by just a point despite limiting Oilers to 11 points.
Oilers experience once again came into play in the final quarter as thy managed to hold on to their lead through to the final buzzer.
Jimmy Enabu (13 points) led Oilers, Okello added 10 points and picked 7 rebounds while Landry Ndikumana grabbed 25 rebounds.
Chris Omanye (10 points), Michael Bwanga (9) and Sudi Ulanga (8) paced Titans in a losing effort.
