UGANDA : Silverbacks: Oilers-KIU clash put off
KAMPALA-The anticipated clash between City 
Oilers and KIU Titans earlier scheduled for this evening has been 
postponed to pave way for another warm up game for the Silverbacks who 
are preparing for the Afro-basketball Championship.
The game which is again expected to be played 
against a select team of the top division players comes as a welcome 
boost for Mandy Juruni.
The Silverbacks coach had requested for another 
warm-up game after Monday’s 80-68 win over the select side before the 
team departs on Sunday.
“I am sure this team can perform a lot better than
 you have seen today. We never got out of our shell and there were a lot
 of nerves from the home based players who were eager to prove 
themselves. May be we can fix one or two games before we leave,” stated 
Juruni.
Stanley Ocitti impressed with 17 points in his 
first game in national team colours while Kassim Nangwere and Samuel 
Mukooza chipped in with 16 and 13 points respectively.
The Silverbacks have had low key preparations 
after the federation cancelled plans to have the team camp in Turkey 
because of lack of funds.
