RWANDA : IPRC-Kigali, Espoir lock horns as regular season ends

Already crowned regular season champions Espoir BC take on IPRC-Kigali this afternoon in the final basketball league game of the season at Amahoro indoor stadium court.
Kicukiro-based IPRC-Kigali stunned the reigning champions Espoir 63-65 in the first round game earlier this year to become the first side to beat the four-time reigning champions in three years in the regular season.
On the other hand, Jean Bahufite’s champions want to finish the normal league on high and carry the momentum into the playoffs set to start on July 3. The Nyamirambo-based team are aiming to retain the playoffs title for the fourth consecutive time.
Earlier in the day, Cliff Owour’s youthful APR take on struggling 30-Plus at Amahoro stadium and in the women’s league, University of Rwanda- College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR- CASS) host The Hoops Rwanda in the final women’s league game in Huye district.
Last night, fourth-placed Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) were supposed to host sixth-placed IPRC-Kigali. Espoir, Patriots, APR and CSK are the four teams to compete in this year’s Men’s play-off while holders Ubumwe, APR, The Hoops Rwanda and UR- CASS will contest for the women’s glory.
