Falcons have continued their splendid start to the new NBL season
keeping their sheet clean of losses. Last night, the Reds overcame 8-man
Stanbic Warriors, 73:64 at the Lugogo Arena. The 8-man army scored a
total of 42 points in the second quarter as compared to the 41 points by
Falcons in the same time. Falcons’ aggressive start to this ball game
earned them a 12:7 and 20:15 first quarter and second quarter victories
respectively and they went ahead to win the game by 9 points.
Mark Opio in Warriors’ losing effort had
the game high 32 points and the only player with double digits for his
team on the night.
Falcons continue to get inspiration from
their principle players; Ariel Okall for the third game running has
showed consistence in scoring , picking the team high 19 points.
Pointguard Joseph Ouma had 17 points, while Stephen Omony added 11
points. Mukwaba Jonah, Kizito Ceasar and Arkitah Herbert combined to add
20 points.
Warriors have been tipped to get their
numbers back with the return of Okiasi Stephen and Segamba Sedar for
their next fixture. We have also received reports that the Kyambogo
based side will rehire 7-footer Center Sam Gombya who reportedly has
been given no stay at KIU.
Falcons play Ndejje Angels next while Warriors take on Charging Rhinos this Sunday.
