NIGERIA : Zenith Bank Female Basketball League Standard Poor - Zakaa

The standard of play of the ongoing Zenith Bank Female Basketball League is low, Benue Princess coach, Aondona Zakaa has said.
Speaking to Daily Trust at the Abuja National Stadium, Zakaa said the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) must apply strict guidelines to have the best teams competing in the league."I know they want to encourage female basketball but it's not this way. Those teams that wanted to play should start from division one and two so that by the time they arrive here, they are ready for basketball.
"There are some teams here that can not even shoot ball. They can not even lay off, the easiest way of scoring on the basketball court. Some of the games here are not even better than those played at Milo basketball competition," he lamented.
While insisting that standard must be set, he noted that there were only two strong teams in the league.
Zakaa added that "the players are not fundamentally sound. They are not technical. They just come and run around. They don't know how to shoot, they don't know how to dribble.
