KENYA : KBF to Retain Men's Team for the Immediate Future

THE Kenya men's team that did duty in the Four Nations Challenge tournament in South Africa will be retained for future assignments.
Head of delegation Joseph Amoko said yesterday the team benefitted immensely from the tour that ended last Sunday in Johannesburg and should be kept intact for future assignments.
"The experience the boys gained will come in handy in future assignments," observed Amoko.
He said the Kenya Basketball Federation will ensure the team remains intact and be engaged in friendly matches to keep them in shape before the next championships in South Africa.
Amoko, who is also the KBF competitions secretary disclosed the event will return to Johannesburg next year before moving to either Nairobi or Maputo in 2017. Nigeria and Mozambique were the other two teams in the tournament.
"In a meeting chaired by BSA president Graham Abraham and attended by Nigeria and Mozambique, it was agreed the 2016 edition return to the inaugural host city before it can be moved elsewhere," Amoko said.
Kenya played four matches winning only one against South Arica 74-65. They lost 52-83 to Nigeria, and 56-76 to Mozambique and 65-87 to the hosts in their last encounter.
