It’s no secret that the KIU Titans are frustrated with not making an impact in the league despite having good rosters over the years.
With City Oilers looking to be dominant for the next years following back-to-back championships, teams in the National Basketball League are more primed than ever to make deals to improve their squads to compete with Oilers who seem un-matchable.
The KIU Titans have made a real motion towards that front. After signing up Power Forward, Geoffrey Soro earlier in the month, the university side have acquired veteran winger, Norman Blick from TigerHead Power.
“It is a done deal. He (Norman Blick) has officially joined KIU Titans” KIU’s manager, Nasar Serunjojji confirmed to Kawowo Sports. “He has been officially released by Power to join KIU Titans” Serunjojji added.
KIU will be Norman’s sixth team in the local league having played for Sky Jammers, Nkumba Marines,Power, Miracle Eagles and Warriors.
Meanwhile, center Derrick Katumba and veteran guards Albert Aciko and Chris Kyambadde have been released by KIU.
FUBA set to get new secretariat The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) is set to have a better secretariat, the Federations new Administration Vice President, Nasar Serunjojji has revealed.
“At the moment we want to set up a better secretariat. We are looking at renting new offices to create good working conditions” Serunjojji revealed to Kawowo Sports. “Once we set up an organised secretariat the rest will follow” he added.
There has been a significant fall in the attendance of league games even heavy weight Friday night games and Serunjojji says they want to drive the fans back into the games and make the games more fun.
“We want to drive fans back into the stadium and also see more fun in the stadiums” Serunjojji said.
The lower leagues have been poorly organised, with a lot of ineligible players featuring for teams, unnecessary fixture and venue changes and Serunjojji says they want to organise leagues better.
“We want to have better organised leagues from D-League to the NBL” he said.
