UGANDA : Oilers tip off ANBL second round with KIU Titans test
Ever since clinching the league title last season,
the Fiba Africa Zone V Club Championships due in Mombasa, Kenya later
this month have been the major thing on City Oilers’ minds.
But before the regional meet, Oliers must first
sort out the small matter of two league games beginning with Kampala
International University (KIU) Titans this evening at YMCA.
Going by their first round meeting that ended
65-57 in favour of the Oliers, KIU are expected to offer a good test for
the champions that are likely to be without Kami Kabange.
The Rwandan centre who contributed 21 points in
that victory has been struggling with a back injury and is a big doubt
for today’s encounter. His absence is likely offer a flicker of hope for
KIU Titans, who will have a better inside-the-D presence of Akol Bol
and Sam Gombya
