KENYA : Atebe Lifts Don Bosco Over Pac University in NBA League
JOEL Atebe registered a record 56 points as Don Bosco walloped Pan
Africa Christian (PAC) University 114-54 in a Nairobi Basketball
Association (NBA) league tie at Railways Club.
This was the second century in the league and Atebe, who continues to lead the scoring chart this year even signed off with a three pointer that spiced up score-line. Mickey Odenyo scored 18 for the losers. Leaders Mt. Kenya University, Thika extended their good run with a 55-48 win over Pandas. The losers conceded they played badly and need to improve in their subsequent fixtures to finish in a good position. All Stars were dimmed 66-64 by Legacy in a tight duel that could have gone either way. Lameck Ombuya scored 15 points for the winners while the losers had 19 from John Mafabi.
Gladiators tried to apply the brakes on run away leaders Equity Bank but without success as they were vaulted 51-26 with Samba Mjomba hitting 18 and Linda Mfuchi scoring 13. Fast improving Zetech College produced another super show clamping MKU Thika 54-43 with Naomi Oyaro was the top scorers as she provided her team's 11 points. In their last match before they travel to Dar-es-Salaam this weekend for the regional school games, Parkands Arya Girls were down 9-18 to Strathmore before pulling out of the tie citing poor refereeing.
