Basketball in Africa

EQUITY Bank women's team whitewashed Africa Nazarene University 104-23 in a one-sided Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) match at Railways Club.
This was the first time a club was posting a century in the women's league this season. Linda Mfuchi tallied 23 points, Eleanor Musundi nailed 15, Samba Mjomba scored 14 and Denise Okoth bagged 11 for the winners.
Gladiators pipped Strathmore University 38-37, Footprints nipped Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Mt Kenya University, Thika hit Zetech College 46-31. University of Nairobi 'Dynamites' beat Thika 45-27 while Zetech clobbered Africa Nazarene 47-36.
In the men's category, Old Pirates scored a 58-43 triumph over Upper Hill School while United States International University (USIU) beat All Stars 55-39.
Technical University of Kenya lost 49-52 to Machakos Hawks while Strathmore rolled over Pac University 34-19. Catholic University of Eastern Africa thumped Mt Kenya University (MKU) Nairobi 52-28.
