KENYA : Kenya U-18 Sides for Zone Five Bonanza

KENYA will send the under-18 boys and girls teams to the FIBA Africa Zone Five championships in Uganda next month. Vitalis Gode, the Kenya Basketball Federation secretary, confirmed the deal has been sealed after successful talks with the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) in Mombasa.
"We talked to KSSSA who have agreed to work on this programme. The arrangement is good and the terms of agreement favours both parties," said Gode. Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda have confirmed participation. He said he is still waiting for more confirmations from other regional teams.
The tournament will throw off in Kampala from May 11-17 and the winners will book a ticket to the Fiba Africa junior event to be held at a venue yet to be announced later.
The players will be named from the two teams that won the national school championships in the coastal town last week. Upper Hill won the boys trophy while Shimba Hills emerged best in the girls' category.
