UGANDA : Miss Uganda to Grace FNL Tonight

Miss Uganda Stella Nantumbwe has been off the radar lately. Ever since she made news when she took part in the Miss World contest last year, Nantumbwe has not featured a lot in the news. This evening, however, the 23-year-old will be the star attraction in the third week of the Friday Night Lights Basketball tournament [FNL} at the YMCA grounds.
"I have not been off the radar; I have just been quite busy doing activism work for Aids patients and less on the social scene," Nantumbwe told The Observer.
FNL has attracted a number of socialites in the past year, although most of them had no clue or little knowledge about the game when given a chance to play. Nantumbwe, on the other hand, says she is not in that boat: "I might be a bit rusty but I used to play basketball though just for fun. You can even expect me to score a basket."
She will play for FNL two-time champions Team Ikong, which will take on Team Sudi. To spice it up further, first runner-up Anita Kyarimpa will play on the opposing team. And like Nantumbwe, she is looking forward to the game, but says she is not well versed with it.
Besides basketball, there will be a surprise performance; last week had Jackie Chandiru and Rabadaba who thrilled the crowd. The fans will also take part in other challenges such as Castle Lite's mystery box, KCB's shoot for cash and Rwenzori's treasure hunt. They will stand to win cash prizes, a flat screen TV and Castle Lite merchandise, among others.
To be part of the fun, you will have to pay Shs 5,000 ordinary and Shs 10,000 VIP at YMCA grounds.
