ZAMBIA : Pacers Dump Magic
DEFENDING champions, UNZA Pacers beat Matero Magic 64-49 to edge closer towards making the finals of the Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) 2013 Sprite National Championships.
The games being played at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) in Lusaka saw Magic starting on a strong note, winning the first quarter 15-12 and Pacers managed to narrow the gap losing the second quarter 30-28.
Pacers' resilience paid off in the third quarter finishing 52-44 tops and wrapped up the tie in the fourth quarter to head into today's final matches been played on the best of two.
Shells 72 Buffaloes 69
Earlier, Shells remained on course to defend their title after coming from two quarters down to stun Green Buffaloes ahead of today's final reverse match.
This tightly contested affair saw Thanzo Musaundwe scoring two winning baskets after Precious Bwali had given Shells a narrow 70-69 lead after being tied 69-all for a long spell.
Meanwhile, Napsa Breeze were up against UNZA Honeys in the other feminine semi final last evening while Napsa Hurricanes squared up against LCC Looters in the second men's semi finals
