Nigeria: First Deepwater Cruise Into Quarter-Final in Morocco
After a sloppy start in the first quarter, Nigeria's First Deepwater basketball club yesterday rose to the occasion to defeat Moroccan Ittihad Raidi De Tanger basketball club 88-44 points to finish second in group-B in the ongoing 19th Africa Champions Cup for Women in Meknes, Morocco.
The Nigerian side continued the progression from the second quarter with a 17-10 points win to take a 10 points advantage going into the break (35-25).
The complete break came from the start of the third quarter as First Deepwater basketball club side put paid to the ambition of the I.R Tanger of springing any surprises winning the third and fourth quarters convincingly by 29-10 and 24-09 points for a cumulative score-line of 88-44 points.
With the second place finish, First Deepwater will play host Club Omnisports De Meknes today while I. R. Tanger fourth place finisher in group-B will battle Primeiro D'Agosto basketball club of Angola in the quarter finals pairing.
