BOTSWANA : Dolphins walk over Warriors
Dolphins claimed a comfortable 100-36 win over toothless Warriors in the men’s basketballleague to continue with their resurgent form in the second round.
Victory over the bottom side at SSKB on October 12 kept Dolphins on course for a top four finish and a place at the end of season national championships. The Dolphins have now amassed 23 points from 13 matches after registering their eighth successive win. They are in fourth position ahead of Police V.
Thuto Shai led from the front scoring 15 points as Dolphins established a stranglehold in the first quarter, which they won 27-3. Patrick Mokgethi and Thando Mawela also produced good performances as the Dolphins took a 47-18 lead at halftime.
They then ran riot in the third and fourth quarters to claim a comfortable win. It was the second time this season the Dolphins drubbed Warriors after the first round match between the two sides ended with a 107-34 victory for the Dolphins.
Warriors on the other hand were suffering their 15th loss in a row and are still searching for a first win in their debut season in the league.
Meanwhile, BDF V pulled level with defending champions Police V at the top of the women’s league table after a 94-61 victory over Dolphins. The two rivals have 26 points each but BDF V have played one game more.
