UGANDA : Power see off Vegetarian in NBL
Vegetarian 51-67 Dmark Power
One of the major differences between teams in the national basketball league is the ability to take care of the ball when it matters.
Vegetarians made five unforced turnovers to start the fourth quarter and Dmark Power took advantage en route to the 67-51 win. Ben Komakech scored game high 17 points to lead Power, Joseph Ikong added 13 points and Paul Mwaka had 11.
Vegetarian (4-15) were competitive in the first three quarters and went into the last quarter trailing by four points but they were undone by their profligacy in ball handling in the final 10 minutes. Vinnie Jurua scored 16 points to lead Vegetarian but gave away the ball 9 times. Bernard Okum had 14 points and John Otto contributed 10 points.
Miracle Eagles suffered a similar trend in the 63-75 loss to Ndejje Angels. Eagles (1-17) struggled to score in the second half even from the line which has been the story of their season. Ivan Mago scored 12 points to lead eagles. Anthony Kibalama and Ronald Bajjunga contributed 11 points each and Abraham Isyagi added 10 points. Ndejje’s second string team played most of the game and with levity but still came out victorious. Dickson Asiku and Micheal Opolot led the way for Angels (13-5) with 14 and 12 points respectively off the bench. Jonah Otim had 13 points while Brian Odur and Andrew Deng contributed 10 points each.
