RWANDA : Kigali BC Takes On CSK in Friday Basketball Clash
Former league champions Kigali Basketball Club believe they can register a win against title contenders CSK in today's clash of the national basketball league at Amahoro stadium.
With three consecutive wins since the beginning of the second round just two weeks ago, Kigali BC has high hopes of winning the league title but knows that every game counts right now.
Head coach Cyrille Karima revealed that, "We want to play and win one game at a time because we know that this round is very important in deciding which team comes top at the end of the round."
Karima will be relying on the services of comeback hero and shooting guard Mike Bazangu who has shown his scoring prowess in the past three games averaging 30 points per game.
CSK, on the other hand, also wants to stay in the title race and will be looking to national team veteran guard Aboubakar Barame for inspiration.
According to Karima, his outfit wants to go into Sunday's encounter against the reigning league champions Espoir with confidence and he has indicated that this is a must-win game.
"If we want to come out on top of the table standings at the end of the second round then we have to defeat Espoir since we lost to them in the first round," confessed Karima.
Espoir's captain who is also the captain of the Rwanda national team, Aristide Mugabe believes that with the training that his team has had, his teammates can register a crucial win.
Mugabe said, "We do not take any game for granted. We respect our opponents but then again, we want to win so we shall come out strong."
Espoir has been resting for two weeks since they opened the second round with an impressive win against CSK 89-48 with Mugabe dropping a game high 40 points.
