Basketball in Africa

The Nigeria women national basketball team, D'Tigress, yesterday lost its last group match, the third in the ongoing 2013 Afrobasket, as the Scott Nnaji-tutored girls crashed to Cameroon 71-65 despite putting up a good fight.
However, D'Tigress advanced to the quarter-final of the competition to face either Senegal or Mozambique tomorrow.
The Nigerian girls lost the first quarter 18-19, took the second and third quarters 18-16, 19-16 respectively before losing the last quarter 20-10.
Both Senegal and Mozambique have 8 points but Senegal are ahead on points having amassed +204 to Mozambique's +189.
Senegal will remain group leaders except they lose to the host in their last match which was about to start at the time of filing this report.
