KENYA : USIU Stun Ulinzi in Premier League Basketball Encounter
UNITED States International University (USIU) stunned Ulinzi Warriors 66-57 in a premier league basketball clash at Upper Hill School. The "Tigers" who trailed 10-8 and 19-16 at the end of the first and second quarter.
But they recovered to take the third 23-19 and the fourth 19-14 to carry the day against the former six time champions. Victor Bosire led the scoring tally with 16 points while Kelvin Macharia managed 12.
For the soldiers William Ochieng tallied 10 as did Ben Mufutu. Strathmore "Swords" pipped Thunder 44-42 behind 13 points from Joseph Owino while University of Nairobi "Terrorists" blanked relegation doomed Blazers 47-27 as Frank Manyala led with eight points. USIU ladies rolled past Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University 57-20 as Magnifigue Magnifigue nailed 11 points.
