SENIOR BASKETBALL national team head coach Moise Mutokambali says that the team is making good progress in preparations ahead of the upcoming Afro-basketball in Ivory Coast.

According to the former basketball player, the players in camp are training harder as they fight for places on the final team, which gives him hope of doing well in the championship set to be held in Abidjan from August 20 – September 1.
“The boys are doing really well which can only be good for me as coach because you want to see your players give 100 per cent even in training, it gives you options and some bit of selection headache, I like their attitude,” Mutokambali told Saturday Sport.
The coach is working with mainly home-based players, and five professionals have so far reported to camp. They include; US-based Patrice Twagirayezu and Bradley Cameron, Daniel Primo Rugamba, Thierry Sukusuku, both based in France, as well as Canada-based Hamza Ruhezamihigo.
US-based Kenneth Gasana is the last professional expected to arrive in camp, on August 10. Rwanda is in Group B alongside defending champions Tunisia, Morocco and debutants Burkina Faso.

They start their continental bid against Burkina Faso on August 21, take on Morocco on 23 before facing Tunisia on August 25.
