KENYA : Lions roar, Strathmore Swords split Western girls

Ancet Wafula’s 22 points guided his team the Lions to a 72-47 win over Blazes at the Nyayo national gymnasium in a basketball premier league match.The Lions led 30 -19 by half time having recovered from an 11-21 loss in the first quarter.
Wafula was on song with his three point shots especially in the third quarter where the Lions opened a wide gap with a 27-09 win before sealing the day with a 23-19 final quarter score.
Tobias Onyango had 17 points for the Lions same as Joel Wafula of Blazers.
In another match played in Kakamega, Strathmore Blades whitewashed the hosts Western Delight 20-60 in a match Blades won in all quarters but the second which was an 11 ups tie.
Strathmore posted a strong start in the first quarter winning with 21 points and setting up a perfect defensive wall that could not allow a delighted break through for the hosts with the quarter ending 21-00.
Grace Wanjiku was the highest scorer on the day with 11 points for Blades while Victoria Ondiso had 09 points for Delight.
