ZAMBIA : Pacers Beat Legends
UNZA Pacers kicked off their 2013 Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) league title bid on a high, beating Kabwe Legends in the Week One matches played at the National Sports Development Centre (NASDEC) in Lusaka.
The other A league matches played at the weekend saw LCC Looters on the winning side, thumping Assumption Comets 92-79 as Matero Magic posted a 69-44 baskets win past Heroes Play United.
In the men's B league matches played, Hone Denvers beat China United 72-54 with Intrepid Bulls edging ZCAS Blazers 69-50 as Earthrow Bulldogs narrowly overcame Nkwazi with a 75-73 win.
The Looters Junior side posted an emphatic 72-30 win over Hurricanes Junior, while UNZA Pacers beat Magic 62-54.
LCC Lootersses beat Napsa Breeze 67-50 in the ladies league fixtures that also saw Shells beating Hotspurs 69-34, while ZNS Green Eagles battled to an 82-all draw with NAPSA Hurricances before winning the tie 96-92 in extra-time.
