Ndejje University Angels survived Edwin Katerega’s game high 22 points & 15 rebounds and held off KIU Titans 82-78 in overtime Sunday night at YMCA.
Ndejje led through all the quarters and seemed to be in position to wrap up the win in forty minutes until 37 seconds to end the fourth when Bol Akol tied the game at 67 from the top of the mountain to push fairly offensively open game into overtime.
With KIU trailing 71-76 with 2:10 in overtime, Chris Omanye (19 points, 5 rebounds) scored the next 5 points to tie the game at 76 with 1:16. Katerega took KIU up with a throw but Jonah Otim (10 points) drained a go-ahead corner 3-pointer to restore Ndejje’s lead with over 40 seconds. Three throws from Otim (2) and Tumusiime (1) sealed the win.
Four other players reached double figures for Angels (6-3). Brian Ouma scored 18 points (team high), Geoffrey Soro 15 points & 13 rebounds, Steven Okias 14 points and Francis Tumusiime had 13.
The other Sunday fixtures were all a mismatch as Falcons, A1 Challenge and KIU Rangers posted blow-out victories.                                                                                                                           
After being competitive in the first half, Heaters couldn’t match anything Falcons did in the third quarter en route to 83-51 run away victory. Philip Ameny led the way for Falcons (6-4) with 17 points, Geoffrey Omondi and Herbert Akita contributed 15 points apiece and Moses Okwera had 11. Adam Kakuru led Heaters with game high 19 points and Javan Adhiambo added11 points.
A1 met no challenge against Gladiators handing it a 75-24 loss. Liz Bazira inflicted most of the damage. The forward scored game high points 17 points and picked 9 rebounds. Agnes Nantongo added 14 points, Margret Nalubega chipped in with 11 points and Hatima Kasimu had 10. Vickie Ntale picked 16 rebounds to go with 8 points for Challenge (4-6). Gladiators (2-9) were led by Stella Nikuze with 7 points & 9 rebounds, Linda Wefila had 6 and Charline Kirungi picked 16 rebounds.
Ruth Nakitto and Moreen Atulinda scored 15 points apiece to lead KIU Rangers to an 88-44 blowout school side, Nabisunsa. Doreen Namukasa added 14 points & 10 rebounds for Rangers (6-3) and Judith Nansobya had 12. Nabisunsa (0-10) was led by Zaina Lokwameri with 13 points and Rachael Aceng added 12 points.
