SEYCHELLES : Heat continues hot streak, while supporters causes match to be abandoned

Basketball fans one again saw themselves at the centre of things last weekend, where the match between Angels and Premium Cobras had to be abandoned due unsavoury scenes by the supporters. Meanwhile, Beau Vallon Heat maintained their unbeaten record with a win against Drifters.

The match between Angels and Cobras had reached the fourth quarter; Cobras were leading 57-55, then the crowd decided they wanted to get in on the act too. Abusive taunt towards officials and disorderly conduct forced the match to be abandoned and again posed the question of when will action be taken to prevent such disrespectful acts from tainting the image of Seychelles basketball. Another blip in an otherwise enthralling basketball season.
In other first division matches, things did go on without a hitch. Beau Vallon Heat continued with their unbeaten record this season as they romped drifters on an 81-65 score and therefore remain at the top of the league standings.
Defending league champions PLS Hawks kept their chances of retaining their title alive as they beat MBU Rockers 64-55 while second placed Baya dominated RC Dynamics in a 104-47 victory. Earlier in the week, MBU Rockers suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Drifters.
In the second division, there were wins for Cascade Bullets who beat Razors 62-52 and Anse Etoile got a 57-56 victory over AAP Brothers.
In the women’s league, Hotshot got an easy 89-43 win over Juniors.
