KENYA : Malindi Net harvest maximum points to lead Coast Basketball league

Malindi Nets took over the Coast Basketball league leadership after registering two convincing wins at Buxton Hawks grounds on Wednesday.    The Nine-man Army as they are popularly known after the team travelled fromMalindi with only nine players, and are making their Coast league debut beat fellow newcomers Kaya Tiwi secondary 71-31.
They then beat Creeks 55-47 in another cracker thanks to the talented duo of George Oganda and Eddy Bahati who played their hearts out.

In other matches of the day, Buxton Hawks narrowly beat Mtopanga finest 60-59, Kisauni Kings defeated Mjetts 48-34 while Kiembeni Heats beat Coastal Kings 53-43.
After weekend matches, Malindi Nets tops the table standing with maximum four points same as Kiembeni heats and Kisauni Kings who are placed second and third respectively but with inferior goal differences.

Buxton Hawks are fourth with three points while Changamwe Rollers, Creeks and Kaya Tiwi Secondary are fifth, sixth and seventh with two points each.

Mtopanga Finest, Coastal Kings and Mjetts complete the top 10 placing with a point each but separated on goal difference.

In matches programmed for next Saturday at High Level grounds, Shimba Hills boys make their league debut with a match against Congo Net, Kisauni Kings take on Kaya Tiwi secondary, Coastal Kings square it out with Mjetts, Tumaini Takers take on Buxton Hawks while Mtopanga Finest will clash with Changamwe Rollers in this matches planned to tip off at 9.30am.
