Women: Gladiators v KIU Rangers 6:30pm
Men: City Oil v Vegetarians 8:30pm
AFTER City Oil’s 75-65 win against last year’s finalists and six times champions Falcons, point guard Jimmy Enabu believes his side has to look at it as a stepping stone to bigger things. The Oil boys last Friday.
“All we need is to dream big, the Falcons win was good but we have more games ahead and we have to win plenty of them. If we continue like this, we will put ourselves in the frame for the title,” explained Enabu.
City Oil return to action today in the second game of the day at YMCA, Wandegeya against follow promoted side Vegetarians. When the two teams met in Division One last year, City Oil reigned supreme and normal service expected to resume.
Enabu got a taste of the national championship with D’Mark Power and wants aims to win it with his current employers. He believes that creating a bond with new recruits Ramadhan Arou from Sudan and center Kami Kabange from Rwanda will be the catalyst.
“We are yet to play as a team but it is just a matter of training hard and playing more games together for us to understand each other better. Our team has good players and all we need to be one,” Enabu added.
Vegetarians are yet to register their first league win and it is difficult to imagine them getting anything out of this game.
Meanwhile, in the ladies encounter, powerhouses KIU Rangers will take on lowly Gladiators in the first game of the day.
