Airtel National Basketball League
Women
Nabisunsa v KCCA
Men
UCU Canons v Heaters
TODAY evening there will be new Airtel National Basketball League leaders at the end of the two matches at YMCA, Wandegeya.
According to the National Basketball League rules, even the beaten side earns a point after the game, a thing which guarantees UCU Canons and KCCA Leopards’ spots at the top.
Both will go on top but having played a game more, but it may be short-lived if the initial table leaders win their games with a good margin by the end of the week.
UCU despite being without their star Sudi Ulanga who is out with a knock, welcome back Desmond Owili who returns from Kenya to boost the side’s chances against Victoria University Heaters.
Shooting guard Cyrus Kiviri who has geled well with his new teammates after joining from Warriors in the off-season, promised a good show.
“We have to sleep on the top of the table but with a sounding win. We are missing some players but the team is still strong and we will win with a good margin,” vowed Kiviri who has been inspirational in the team's victories.
Meanwhile, in the ladies game, defending champions KCCA clash with struggling Nabisunsa.
Last years’ MVP Flavia Oketcho vowed to do what they do best; winning.
“This league is all about us defending our title and we are going to guard it jealously. And now that we going on top, it will be a stepping stone for us to clinch the title,” Oketcho stressed
