Tanzania: Polisi Outmuscle Mbuyuni in Zanzibar Basketball League
Zanzibar — POLISI Zanzibar underlined their title ambitions after beating Mbuyuni 57-52 in the ongoing Unguja Zone Basketball League at the Maisara courts here on Thursday.
It was the third consecutive victory for Polisi, who are now tied on six points with leaders Rangers but are separated by goal difference. Playing with vigour, Polisi showed their intent to win form the start after they bulldozed a shattered Mbuyuni, taking a convincing 16-10 lead in the first quarter.
The law enforcers continued to dominate the game in the second quarter despite Mbuyuni's strong resistance midway through the quarter.
They held on to record 11-point advantage at 39-28. Polisi started the second half where they finished and at the end of the third the lead had increased to 52-36 and in the fourth quarter Mbuyuni defence had no answers to the Polisi offense.
