Kenya: Inter-Cities Basketball - Kampala, Nairobi Battle for Supremacy

Today: Women's fixtures
Mukono v Entebbe
Kampala B v Jinja
Kampala A v Nairobi
THE last two unbeaten ladies' sides left in the East and Central Basketball Inter-cities championship, Kampala A and Nairobi, will today do battle this afternoon at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Both teams will have to rely less on their best players in Kampala A's Flavia Oketcho and Nairobi's Hilda Hi. Oketcho twisted her left ankle in her last outing while Hi is yet to fully recover from a knee injury.
Both coaches however believe the crocked players will deliver 100% if fielded but will ultimately be given less minutes on court.
"Flavia's ankle is not yet ok but we need her on court and she also needs to play so all I will do is to give her more rest time, she will only be on court when needed," Kampala A head coach John Odeke.
Nairobi coach Sylvia Kamau Ochola is confident that Hi is a strong enough character to overcome her injury worries.
"She is a leader that's why she guides our team whenever we need her most, so I expect the same from her tomorrow," Kamau stated after their win over Jinja on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in the other encounters of the day, Mukono will face wounded Entebbe knowing that only a win will enhance their chances of booking a place in the final.
A win today and another over Kampala A tomorrow will see them cement a place in the top two.
Kampala B and Jinja face off in the other game to decide who finishes bottom of the group. Ladies used a round-robin system where the top two teams play each other in the finals.
