DEFENDING champions Warriors handed Miracle Eagles a rough start to the National Basketball League with a 94-28 whitewash of the Eagles, Sunday at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
Both teams have unfamiliar line-ups after losing several players during the transfer season the game ended by the close of the first quarter.
Despite talk of early retirement, Ivan Enabu returned to the Warriors camp at took charge of scoring duties.
The quick, versatile guard scored a game-high 21points to lift the defending champions who are still regrouping after losing some of their star players in Norman Blick, Cyrus Kiviri and Micheal Kariuki.
Henry Malinga contributed 17points, 20 rebounds with Ronnie Kasewu adding 18 points for the Warriors whose campaign to retain the league title started on a high note.
After losing half of the team in the post-season transfer trade, Miracle Eagles presented a lightweight squad and were duly punished by the champions.
There is little time for Miracle to dwell on their heavy 66 point loss. They take on newcomers City Oil on April 28.
In the women's encounter, Magic Stormers rallying behind Carol Nyafwono's 28 points obliterated Nabisunsa 101-50 in an earlier match.
