RWANDA : Gisembe Memorial Tourney Set for June 6
Espoir basketball Club have confirmed that this year's Gisembe memorial tournament, will be held on the weekend of June 6-7. However, the venue has not been confirmed yet.
Emmanuel Ntarugera aka Gisembe, was killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi along with 16 other club players.
"We are working to get sponsorship and other requirements to make the event more competitive and successful."
Espoir will also be honoring other players and officials, who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Gisembe Memorial competition started in 1996 and Espoir, the organisers of the competition, won the inaugural title.
