NIGERIA : DSTV League - Don't Expect Too Much From Kada Stars - Coach

Kaduna State owned basketball club Kada Stars have revealed the club is currently rebuilding for the future, therefore their fans should not expect too much from them this season in the DSTV sponsored basketball league for men.
Coach of the club, Sani Turi told LEADERSHIP WEEKEND SPORTS that they lost some of their very good players to bigger clubs due to inconsistency in salaries and have resorted to scouting for new players to prosecute the league. He said the team currently in camp is a mixture of young players from their academy and youth team coupled with some players used during the National Sports Festivals in Port Harcourt and Lagos. "I would like to tell our fans not to expect too much from us this season because we are rebuilding. That does not mean we will not put in our best to maintain our good showing in the league. Our strategy now is to build for a formidable team in the future. We are rebuilding through some young players we got from the academy and Kada Stars youth team and 90% of the team is made up of mixture of players from the National Sports Festivals in Rivers and Lagos States. We have two players from the old brigade and hopefully we shall put in our best."
Turi said the season will depend on the mentality, commitment and dedication of the players as trainings have been ongoing since in order to put up a favourable showing.
