KENYA : Sironga Beat Enkinda to Win Nyamira County Schools Basketball Title
HOSTS Sironga High edged out Enkinda 33-14 to win the Nyamira County secondary schools girls' basketball title. Sironga, coached by Maurice Mwenda led 17-6 at the breather with Milka Nyagwoka, Molly Atieno and Esther Nyagaka inspiring the winners to retain the title. Nyagwoka and Atieno top-scored with 10 points each. In the semis, Sironga beat Rigoma Mixed 37-08 while Enkinda defeated Nyaikuro 15-08.
However, Sironga and Enkinda will represent Nyamira at the Lake and Highland region championships scheduled for next week at Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho. In the boys' category, Nyamira recapture their title after tossing a coin after final, where they were top play Kizito Nyansiongo failed to take off due to heavy rains.
