KENYA : Maseno Seek to Defend Ball Title As Nyanza Action Peaks

MASENO School will start their Lake and Highland region boys' basketball title campaign against St. Kizito Nyansiongo tomorrow.
Maseno, coached by principal Paul Otula, start the tournament as favourites having consecutively won the title for several years. They have been pooled in Group 'D' alongside Nyansiongo and Ambira.
According to the draws and fixtures released by the regional secretary Tom Odhiambo, Kisii County champions Nyamagwa, Homa Bay Boys and Kisumu Boys are in Pool 'A'.
Pool 'B' will consist of Rapogi, Agoro Sare and hosts Cardinal Otunga High School and Mosocho while Pool 'C' has Rakwaro Seminary, St Mary's Yala and Nyamira Boys. In girls' basketball, favourites Kisumu and Asumbi have been pooled in Group 'A' alongside Gesicho from Kisii County.
Kisii County champions Itierio Girls, Ogande (Homa Bay) and St Mary's Mabera are in Group 'B' while Group 'C' has Ng'iya Girls, Enkinda and Ulanda. Pool 'D' will have Nyamira champions Sironga, Raliew and Koru from Kisumu County. Defending netball champions, Obambo from Siaya are in Group 'B' and will face off with Mobamba and Koru Girls. Pool 'A' will have Nyachogochogo (Kisii), Nyarach and Lwak while Sironga, Kobala and Kandege will be in Pool 'C'. Nyamira champions Gucha, Banda (Nyatike) and Ogande are in pool 'D'.
