KBF Premier League Champions Co-op Bank head coach Cary Odhiambo has admitted that his side was outplayed by Thunder in their league encounter played on Saturday at the Nyayo Gymnasium.
Co-op Bank were beaten 72-63 by the Shauri Moyo based side in their league opener last weekend.
According to Odhiambo, his side was completely out of game mode and was caught unawares by their opponents who capitalized on every blunder to sink them, “They outplayed us in every department and their shooting was superb. Once you get a shooting team then definitely you will have problems.” He says.
He further adds that apart from Griffin Ligare, the Thunder captain who was in top form, the rest of the team stepped up and gave them a very stiff challenge, “Griffin always gives teams a hard time but in that game the other team members stepped up and gave their side points. It was their day.”
Odhiambo’s focus is now to get his team from the comfort zone and get to serious business in their quest towards defending their league title, “we have to admit that we are not in good form as we were in December so the boys need to step up. As I said before the season, I wanted us to start the league with wins. Catching up is an unwanted situation so we really have to work hard this week.”
