The 2012 KBF Premier League Champions Co-op Bank will be seeking to recruit new players to specifically fill the Center position before the onset of the 2013 season.
Team coach Cary Odhiambo says this is to fill the central void that has been left following the unavailability of Akol Bol and Mark Mayien, “the two of them were our main Center players but we are informed that they travelled and we are not sure when they will be back. We shall give them some time if they are not available then we shall have to replace them.”
The coach indicated that they have already identified a few players and what remains was to decide whether to sign them, “we shall meet and come up with a conclusive decision on the players.”
Odhiambo is also aware that the 2013 season will not be easy for the side and for that reason they are working hard to remain at the top and retain their title, “retaining the championship for 4 years in a row is not easy and we shall have to be at our best. I also expect teams in the league to offer stiff competition. We have to work out a strategy on how to improve our league start because we have been shaky at the start in the past.”
Co-op retained their title after they beat USIU Tigers in the play –offs finals with a 2-1 win in the best of 3 series.
