The Kenya national women’s basketball coach Ronnie Owino says his team will be selected on merit and also depending on how best the players will fit in his system.
The team assembled in Nairobi last weekend and holds daily sessions under coach Owino in preparation for the forthcoming Zone 5 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“We have various systems that we will adopt and on top of the agenda when selecting the final team is how a specific player will adapt to the system. A player might be good but if they cannot fit in then we have no otherwise but to drop them and get one who can.” Owino said.
On how the training is fairing on Owino was satisfied so far saying , “we have a full house apart from Taundencia Peter who is a student at NYTA-Shimba Hills and is in form 4 so we did not want to interfere with her studies. Apart from the limited training time all is well.”
