UGANDA : Advantage Falcons as Playoffs Finals head into Game 4

Prior to the start of the finals, most of the attention centred on Falcons star man Stephen Omony and the Warriors pair of Norman Blick and Cyrus Kiviri. The standout player ahead of tonight’s Game 4 is Steven Tumwesigye of Falcons.
Tumwesigye has always had a nerve of steel right from his Kings College Budo days and later at UCU Canons but never have basketball fans seen him so fired up like in these finals.
So far, he is playing like a gladiator, coming in handy on the defence and being destructive on the offense. In game 1, Tumwesigye’s nine points – in particular his late three-pointer – made the difference as Falcons cruised to victory.
He was at it again in Game 3 on Sunday, scoring 13 points and eight rebounds. Most importantly, it’s not the points but he gives Falcons the edge in the fourth quarter when it matters most.
In fact, his performances could determine who will walk away with the trophy. He is no doubt the best mail man in the series; does the dirty work and eases the load off the star players.
The 2-1 lead has given Falcons more belief that they can seal this off in less than seven games and Warriors coach Mandy Juruni has a number of issues to contend with.

On Sunday his substitutes combined for just 18 points; Brian Gumisiriza had two, Ivan Enabu and Ronnie Kasewu combined for six each, Henry Malinga had four while Jude Ochen had zero points. On the other hand, Falcons had 40 points from the bench.
With Eric Malinga a shadow of his old self, Kasewu has to step up and rescue Warriors’ sinking ship.Anything short, Falcons may kill off the contest this weekend.
