NIGERIA : NBBF Holds Forum for Youth Development Today

In keeping faith with its developmental and catch them young initiative, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) will today at the National Institute For Sports, Package 'B' of the Abuja National Stadium hold a one day national open forum on youth development with the theme 'evolving a sustainable nation development programme'.
The event which will be declared open by the minister of sports and chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Abdullahi Bolaji will give past players, administrators and experts alike opportunity to make their contributions on the way forward for Nigeria's basketball. Former NBBF presidents like U.K Umar, president Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Sani Ndanusa and Kogi State chief judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah who is a former basketball player and patron Kogi State basketball association are expected to deliver key note addresses on the way forward at the forum.
NBBF president, Tijani Umar will also present the overview of the national youth programme in the country, while a veteran youth basketball coach Emmanuel Odah is expected share his experience on the challenges of raising appropriate age-group national team-the lesson from the past. Michael Akuboh of ABU Zaria will present paper on the basketball without borders in Africa titled 'Any lesson for youth development in Nigeria?'
Other resource persons that will present various papers at the occasion include Dr Abubakar Mu'azu, director National Sports Medicine Centre, Abuja. He will present paper on the medical imperatives of youth development. While Sani Ahmed, Kano Pillars basketball coach will deliver speech on towards a national youth programme and coaching method.
