NIGERIA : 19 Teams Jostle for Trophies At David Mark Tourney
In Otukpo — 19 teams are presently jostling for prizes, medals and trophies at the 2012 edition of Senate President David Mark's Basketball tournament taking place in Otukpo, Benue State.
The Media Manager of the tournament 'Mark D Ball', Joe Apu told Trustsports that the teams are made up of 12 male and seven female teams respectively.
Apart from teams from within Benue State, teams from other parts of the country and outside Nigeria are taking part in the championship that started on December 26.
Mr. Apu listed the male teams to include: ASPAC (Cotonou), Blame It On Experience (Otukpo), ESPN (Otukpo), Apa Flames (Otukpo), Otukpo United (Otupko) and Bethlehem (Otukpo).
Others are; Pepete Shooters (Lafia), SUBA Sharpshooters (Suleja), Braves (Makurdi), Mountainers (Jos), Hard Rockers (Abuja) and Veterans of Abuja.
The female category consist of; Dolphins (Lagos), Delta Force (Asaba), Beloved Sweeties (Makurdi), Pearls (Makurdi), Rockers (Jos), SAPCLN Queens (Abuja) & Apa Queens.
The coordinator of the tournament, Obande Ogbole said there were many trophies, medals and prize money to be won after the championship.
According to him, the first, second and third teams will go home with N300,000, N200000 and N100, 000 respectively.
