Kenya Basketball defending champions Eagle Wings on Saturday qualified for the finals of this year’s league after a spirited 53-60 win over their hosts KPA.The highly volatile match was played at the Makande Hall.
Eagle Wings had won the first match in Nairobi last weekend and the win on Saturday ensured they had two of the best of three matches.
“It was a tight match. We faced all kinds of resistance including very biased officiating. Our coach Smarts was thrown out in the third quarter but the girls were determined to win. We thank God that we are in the finals again.” Said Eagle Wings assistant coach Evelyn Kedogo.
Eagle Wings will now play the winner of the match between USIU and Coop Bank as the match was forced to go into game three on Saturday after Coop overturned tables to beat USIU by two points winning match two 57-55.
The first match of the finals best of three will be played on Wednesday at the Nyayo Gymnasium in Nairobi.
