D'Mark Power force third game

UCU Canons 62-71 D’Mark Power (1-1 on aggregate)
After losing the first quarter final game, nothing short of victory was all defending champions D-Mark Power needed to brighten their chances of making it to the semi-finals of this year’s NBL. Led by MVP Isaac Afidra and Joseph Ikong, Power really achieved victory after beating Canons 71-62 in a game played at Lugogo Indoor stadium.
The first quarter ended all square with each side managing 16 points though the Mukono University side looked the better side.
In the second quarter, Canons proved too hot to handle winning it by a nine point margin after making 24 points against Power’s 15. This gave Canons a 40-31half time lead sending their fans into celebrations.
In the third quarter, Power made it clear they were not to give up so easily and their famous come back instincts saw them win 23-10 to take the lead for the first time in this game.
This was maintained in the fourth and final quarter of the nail biting game with Power winning it 17-12 thus making it 71-62 overall.
Joseph Ikong and Isaac Afidra were the highest point earners for the champions managing 8 and 17 points respectively in a tightly contested game while Boniface Okello’s 12 points made him Canon’s highest.
D-Mark Power’s win puts the tie square thus setting up a mouth watering do-or-die final game of the quarter finals between the two sides.
The game had to start late as one of the rims was being repaired after it was damaged during the warm up.
