RWANDA : Former Champs APR Tame Holders KBC

APR inflicted a second league defeat to the reigning champions Kigali Basketball with an 87-78 win as the season reached the halfway mark on Friday.
Lionel Hakizimana scored 36 points to help former champions APR to a crucial win at Amahoro Indoor Stadium courts. It was the second loss of the season for the champions, who also lost to league title favourites Espoir two weeks ago.
APR, who have only lost once in the opening game of the season against Circle Sportif de Kigali, leapfrogged KBC into second place.
Former Apr point guard and the league's leading scorer, Mike Buzangu scored 32 points for the champions.
In Saturday's games, UGB beat Kigali Institute of Education 60-49, while Rusizi beat 30-Plus 84-68.
Action continues today as the National University of Rwanda host Rusizi, Kigali Institute of Education meet Circle Sportif de Kigali and UGB entertains the only unbeaten team in the league, Espoir.
