Eagle Wings basketball team on Friday lost their first match to Tunisia’s CSS Faxien going down 47-64 at the ongoing FIBA Africa women’s club championships in Abidjan Ivory Coast. The regional champions in their second appearance at the continental championship had disastrous first and final quarters posting a paltry 06 and 08 points respectively and 16, 17 points in second and third quarters compared to Faxien’s 21, 02, 17 and 24 points.
“This is a game we had in our hands and could have managed a win but we dug ourselves in a hole in the first quarter. We tried to get out of it in the second and third quarter but got tired again in the final quarter but we have learned from our mistakes and the girls are looking forward to better matches ahead.” Said team official Agina Wesonga.
Samba Mjomba was Kenya’s highest Scorer with 15 points, Susan Odhiambo with 09 points and Silalei Shani with 06 points.
