KENYA : Eagle Wings defeat Gabonese champions

Eagle Wings on Friday collected their first win of the competition after a hard fought battle beating Ndella of Gabon 59-51 in one of the classification matches. The Kenyan champions had lost all her Group B preliminary matches but the girls had vowed to post at least a win before the end of the championships.
The win against Ndella therefore means the Kenyan basketball champions did not finish in the last place.
“We fought hard, it was a learning experience playing against the best of African basketball teams and we have collected massive vital positive points from this outing. We were so determined to win and this is a great motivator to us.” Said Samba Mjomba.
