KENYA : Co-op Bank extinguishes Blazers

Kenya Basketball Federation 2011 Premier League champions Co-op Bank added mystery to bottom placed Blazers when they crushed them 68-37 at the Nyayo Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
In what was a one side encounter, Co-op Bank stamped their dominance right from the 1st quarter sinking in 19 points against Blazers 7. Blazers had a hard time trying to stop the Bankers offences and by the 5th minute of the quarter they had managed only 1 point as their opponents had 8.
Blazers tried to up their game in the second quarter but the defending champions were too strong especially in securing the rebounds earning 23 points against Blazers 12. Blazers were badly affected by poor possession as they easily lost the ball to their opponents who enjoyed a 42—19 lead by half time.
In a low scoring 3rd quarter, Blazers pushed the champions managed a slim win of 8 points against Co-op’s 7.
Titus Musembi who has been in top form for the Bankers gave his side 10 points while Eugene Genga also sunk in the same number of points. Joseph Kosgei had 10 points for Blazers.
With a strong bench to their side Co-op Bank managed to finish off Blazers in the last quarter with a convincing 19-10 win to take the day. The loss to Co-op Bank means Blazers are still rooted at the base of the standings while Co-op Bank are second since league leaders KCB won their match (44-35) against Strathmore on Saturday.
