Kenya Ports Authority point guard Alex Lugasi has expressed his desire to be the Most Valuable Player in the 2012 Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League. Lugasi who shifted his allegiance to Mombasa from Kakamega based Masinde Muliro University (MMUST) has assisted the side to move to an impressive 3rd position in the current table standings after a bad start to the league.
While speaking to michezoafrika.com Lugasi stated that it has been a long journey and he hopes his efforts would be recognized, “I have really worked hard for the past three years and I feel like I can help my team win the league and hopefully also gain MVP status. Last season while playing for MMUST I had a good season, even making sure the team does not face relegation to the Division One but I got nothing at the end of the season.” He explained.
“KPA has 5 matches to go in the 2nd leg of the league after that we have the play-offs I hope to make an impact in the remaining matches and maybe just maybe I will have something to look forward to.” Lugasi concluded.
The point guard is still a student at the Masinde Muliro University but has managed to balance both his studies and turning out for KPA in KBF Premier League.
