RWANDA : KBC win Agaciro basketball tourney

Kigali Basketball Club overcame rivals Espoir 75-65 in the final to win the ‘Agaciro Development Fund’ tournament at Amahoro indoor stadium courts on Sunday.
En-route to the final, KBC beat their fiercest rivals APR in the semi-final 76-63, while Espoir thrashed CSK 81-53 in the other semi-final game on Saturday.

In the women’s fray, league champions APR won the tournament after beating newcomers Rwandans Allied for Peace (RAPP) 67-32. RAPP also lost to National University of Rwanda 52-47.
Already, Rwanda Basketball Federation Executive members have collected Rwf3 million, which will be added to the gate collections and the contributions from of the teams for the Agaciro Fund. This week, the Ferwaba committee will announce the whole contribution to the Agaciro Development Fund.
Ferwaba is the second sporting federation, after Ferwafa, which has organised competitions aimed at raising funds to contribute towards the national solidarity fund. Volleyball federation is also keen to organise a tournament for the same cause.
