Basketball in Africa

The USIU basketball teams , the Flames and the Tigers will be heading to Mombasa this weekend to face Kenya Ports Authority as the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League resumes. The two teams managed to beat their opponents in the 1st leg of the fixtures with Flames beating the KPA women’s team 58-42 while the Tigers beat KPA men’s team by a close margin of 69-65. The fixtures were played at USIU back in July.
Meanwhile the 2011 Defending Champions Co-op Bank who are placed 2nd in the table standings after fellow bankers KCB will be travelling to Kakamega to face Masinde Muliro University on Saturday from 11.30 am the on Sunday move to Kisumu to face bottom placed Lakeside. Western Delight which is also based in Kakamega will play against the Co-op Bank ladies team on Saturday from 10 am.
Another match that will be played in Mombasa over the weekend will be NYTA Shimba Hills against Gladiators on Saturday from Noon then on Sunday Gladiators will be in action again this time facing the hosts KPA.
