Thika Road based students USIU Flames will meet with the recently crowned East and Central Club Champions (Zone 5) Eagle Wings as they seek to stomp a brace in beating the Champions. In the first leg, Flames beat Eagle Wings 58-52 with Flames point guard Hilda Indasi being in blistering form giving her side an impressive 28 points.
The Saturday afternoon match will be an exciting encounter since Indasi will be facing Eagle Wings who beat Kenya Ports Authority, the side she represented in the finals of the regional tournament held last month in Uganda.
With the Flames still unbeaten and Wings enjoying good form the Nyayo gymnasium will witness one of the most volatile matches this season.
Before the 3pm fixture at the Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium, there will be three other Division one league matches. Nairobi Aviation will play Africa Nazarene, Trailblazers face Kenyatta University, while World Hope faces Kenya Airports Authority.
At 2pm, the first Women’s Premier League match will pit Storms against Gladiators.
The last match of the day will be a men’s premier League match Ulinzi taking on USIU Tigers. In other matches to be played on Saturday, Shimba Hills will play KPA at the KPA Gym in Mombasa, Western Delight will welcome Mennonites in Kakamega before the visitors wind off their Western tour against Masinde Muliro.
On Sunday, The Nyayo Gymnasium will once again play host to a fierce battle this time in the Men’s Premier League. At 3pm, Co-op Bank will face off with Strathmore before fellow bankers KCB Lions square it out with Terror.
In other matches of the day in the same venue, KU Pirates play KCA, Upperhill face African Nazarene while Parklands play World Hope. In the Women’s league, Gladiators will be fanning the USIU flames at 1:30pm.
In other matches, KPA will play the return match against Shimba Hills at the KPA GYM in Mombasa, Western Delight plays Safe Spaces in Kakamega while Masinde Muliro faces off with Thunder at the same Venue. IN the Lakeside City of Kisumu, hosts Lakeside will play Mennonites.
